About Us

The Sublette County Outfitters and Guides Association was formed in 1960, one year after its “parent” organization, The Wyoming Outfitters and Guides Association. A unified voice for the outfitting industry was essential to meet the challenges of the expanding regulatory agencies, land use disputes, growing big game license issue problems, big game season & population issues and to increase the degree of professionalism in the industry. We mirror the WyOGA in that we have four primary objectives:

In order to accomplish these goals, SCOGA is involved locally, statewide and nationally in the issues that involve the outfitting and recreational industries.

The outfitting industry contributes significantly to our local and state communities and economics. Tourism income in Wyoming is now approaching $2 Billion annually with the hunting industry alone contributing over $90 million per year. In addition to bringing a significant income to Sublette County each season, the SCOGA members are proud to have been sponsoring a scholarship program to our local communities. Since 1986, we have donated $1000 annually to our high school scholarship program ($500 to a Pinedale senior, $500 to a Big Piney senior).
